I know most of you are going to go, oh no, I have to make the dough? Let’s try it. Healthy Recipes is so in favor of making our own pizza dough because, then we know what is in it!
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup warm water
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp yeast
1 tsp sugar
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups Nutri-blend or regular flour
NEXT TO DO:
Place sugar in 1 cup warm water to dissolve.
Add yeast; when foamy add salt, oil and some of the flour.
Beat until smooth, then stir in the rest of the flour.
Place on board and knead until smooth.
Place in a greased bowl and let rise until doubled in size (will take approximately 45 minutes). Please cover the bowl with a cloth.
Punch down and divide into two equal pieces. Pizza dough will make 2 medium (12-inch circle) pizzas.
Add toppings and bake 15 minutes at 450F degrees.
Note: In high altitudes turn temperature back to 375F degrees.

Mediterranean Pizza Topping
This is my favorite part – the topping. I love Feta cheese.
1 cup Feta cheese
1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
1 cup black sliced olives
1 cup sliced artichoke hearts
1 cup sliced tomatoes
1 large red pepper cut in rings
1 large green pepper cut in rings
Pizza Crust (one large or two medium)
Pizza Sauce (one large or two medium)

Spread Sauce evenly over the crust.
Add green and red peppers, tomatoes. sliced olives and sliced artichokes over the entire pizza crust.
Add the crumbled Feta Cheese and the grated Parmesan over the entire crust. Top with freshly ground black pepper.
Bake pizza 35 – 40 minutes in a 350F degrees in a low altitude or 450F degrees in high altitude. Pizza is ready when fork comes out clean when checked.
Remove pizza from oven, using oven mitts; cut pizza into six pieces, with a pizza cutter.
Serve while hot! Healthy Recipes highly recommends this recipe and it is vegetarian.
Serve pizza with a beverage of your choice, and a Caesar or green tossed salad.
