From your garden grows, all the goodies that go into our barbecue seasoning mix is here. Healthy Recipes loves to see people making their own mixes.
This barbecue seasoning can be sprinkled on meat, poultry or fish the day prior to cooking:
1/2 cup garlic powder or fresh minced garlic
2 tbsp onion powder
4 tsp paprika
2 tsp dry mustard
2 teaspoons dried thyme, crumbled
1 tsp freshly ground pepper.
NEXT TO DO:
Place all ingredients into a 1 -pint jar, cover tightly and shake well to mix. Sprinkle about 1/4 tsp. on each side of steaks, chops, chicken, or fish, prior to grilling, broiling or roasting.
Store the mixture of herbs in a cool, dark, dry place for up to 6 months. Makes about 3/4 cup.
Just to give you an idea, 1/2 tsp of this mix is 5 calories and 1 gram of carbohydrate.
Dry mixes will stay even fresher if they are kept in the refrigerator, tightly covered.
Healthy Recipes thinks this is the way to go with all herb mixes.

Healthy Recipes has found this heavenly recipe with no name on it. It is tried, tested and true, and it is heavenly, so I will add it to our collection of recipes.
I am a fan of peanut sauce, but eat it sparingly due to the high fat content. This recipe is just a winner!
INGREDIENTS:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts halves
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 lb. thin spaghetti
2 cups small broccoli florets
3 scallions, thinly sliced
1 small red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1/2 cup Thai peanut sauce
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
Chopped peanuts for garnishing
FOLLOW ME:
Place chicken between 2 large sheets of wax paper and pound to 1/4″ thick. Rub chicken with sesame oil.
Heat a non-stick skillet over high heat. Add chicken breasts.
Cook chicken breasts for 2 to 3 minutes per side turning once until cooked thoroughly. Set aside on plate.
Cook spaghetti in a large pot, in boiling water until just firm (approximately 8 minutes).
Stir in broccoli and drain spaghetti. Rinse with cold water until cool. Drain totally. Set aside.
Cut chicken breasts into thin diagonal strips.
Combine pasta, all but 2 scallions, red bell pepper, 1/4 cup peanut sauce and lime juice in a large bowl. Toss well until mixed.
Divide divine mixture onto plates, and drizzle with remainder of peanut sauce. Sprinkle with remainder of scallions and chopped peanuts.
